This canvas was super fun to make and the products from SRTC are ALL PERFECT for creating this type of art! Here's how I was inspired and I'll tell you abit of *HOW* below!<br />
Some lucky friends of mine recently posted their gorgeous creations they learned in a *Finnabair* Inspired class and I was GREEN with envy that I was unable to attend (it was at our favorite<a href="https://www.clipperstreet.com/" target="_blank"> Clipper Street store</a> which is a 6 hour drive each way drive from my home!)... but I was inspired at least to give it a shot myself and I was actually able to come up with something I LOVED! (I usually take a very different turn sometime after I begin lol) But this time I persevered thru the *Ugly* stages and now I am UBER happy!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2GNYloTa-JM/VU1PUpES_bI/AAAAAAAAEGM/Rc-xvBpJEZg/s1600/Black%2BMagic%2BInspiration%2BCanvas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2GNYloTa-JM/VU1PUpES_bI/AAAAAAAAEGM/Rc-xvBpJEZg/s400/Black%2BMagic%2BInspiration%2BCanvas.jpg" width="387" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I started with a couple of ideas in my head. One, I REALLY wanted to do this black and pink glitter type art piece, TWO, I had a plan to use a smaller canvas on top of a bigger one along with some of my old messed up brushes (I NEVER throw these away!! So many cool new things for them to become after they're done painting for me!), and THREE This Picasso Quote NEEDS to be put in my studio to kick my ass! And so I started!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">First thing I did was turn to my box of chippy goodness from <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/" target="_blank">SRTC</a> and I found this awesome <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories/patterns.htm" target="_blank">honey comb pattern</a>, then after adding my paint brushes and some Prima goodness I added some <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories/flourishes-flowers-and-fancies.htm" target="_blank">random flower shapes</a> and then I added lots of other paper flowers (which SRTC also sells at crops when they are set up!) These shapes and the molding paste and stencils create so much texture and interest in your art even tho it's all painted the same colour! It really is fun. Now... I'd love to tell you how every single thing is done here...but I can't give away ALL the secrets! Watch for a class with me tho on making something just like this..... ;)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oxQs1yaaYWs/VU1PTYeYvlI/AAAAAAAAEGI/crpRkAMC-8c/s1600/Black%2BMagic%2BInspiration%2BCanvas%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oxQs1yaaYWs/VU1PTYeYvlI/AAAAAAAAEGI/crpRkAMC-8c/s400/Black%2BMagic%2BInspiration%2BCanvas%2B1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The canvas that is the focal point of the piece I wanted to be one of my own drawings and represent me...which, of course, had to include coffee and cats... cause that's what runs in my veins and lives in my heart. It's also the focus of alot of my art! haha I also wanted the painting to look *in progess* without looking unfinished... if that makes sense, so instead of painting it with acrylics I used my Staedler Karat Watercolour crayons (AWESOME!!!) to paint my cat and mug.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yoL9APHAEKE/VU1PS2y1DuI/AAAAAAAAEGE/0xd-88wbzSs/s1600/Black%2BMagic%2BInspiration%2BCanvas%2Bpainting.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yoL9APHAEKE/VU1PS2y1DuI/AAAAAAAAEGE/0xd-88wbzSs/s320/Black%2BMagic%2BInspiration%2BCanvas%2Bpainting.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Theres my sideways photos again......grrrr .... I really have to figure out how to fix that!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VLHXdwvtDD8/VU1PTb8FQ_I/AAAAAAAAEGc/KikblYtX5fE/s1600/Black%2BMagic%2BInspiration%2BCanvas%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VLHXdwvtDD8/VU1PTb8FQ_I/AAAAAAAAEGc/KikblYtX5fE/s320/Black%2BMagic%2BInspiration%2BCanvas%2B2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now... I didnt know what the theme of the challenge was over at SRTC when I started this project (YES!!! They have started monthly challenges!!! SWEET!) so it's not really eligible for entry.... BUT if you are thinking of trying out some SRTC chipboard.. (and that's not even a REQUIREMENT!!!) make sure you pop over to their blog and join in on the fun!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://southernchipboard.blogspot.ca/2015/05/spring-challenge.html" target="_blank">SPRING CHALLENGE!!!!</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Oh and make sure you are a member of their <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/197863823755932/" target="_blank">Facebook Group as well HERE!!!</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I am back again, today with a scrapbook project!! I know! Be still my heart! I LOVE scrapbooking, it really is dear to my heart, I should make a point of doing it more as I have thousands of photos in NEED of special treatment and it's good to look at memories. Since I have been talking with the Dollar Dollar (looking for a new name) craft store here in Williams Lake, I am going to be starting to teach some scrapbook projects and this is the first, we are just waiting for some product to come in for us to pick a date.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GvJsywLlsHQ/VSQpPHBx8bI/AAAAAAAAEAA/VzRsJ-RNtT8/s1600/Memories%2Blayout%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GvJsywLlsHQ/VSQpPHBx8bI/AAAAAAAAEAA/VzRsJ-RNtT8/s1600/Memories%2Blayout%2B1.jpg" height="606" width="640" /></a></div>
Sorry for the glare of the glass, I should have taken the photos out of the frame but... once it was in there I didn't want to fight taking it back out and possibly wreck something. This will be a fun class chock full of some of my favorite techniques in scrapbooking as well as some of my favorite supplies. Papers are from the awesome <a href="http://www.bobunny.com/rosecafe.html" target="_blank">BoBunny Rose Cafe</a>, there are elements from Prima and Faber Castle and of course the always FABULOUS <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/" target="_blank">Southern Ridge Trading Co</a>!!!! Who also have started challenges on their blog and I will be entering again over there and I hope you will too! <a href="http://southernchipboard.blogspot.ca/2015/04/april-challenge-anything-goes.html" target="_blank">ANYTHING GOES!!</a> And you don't even need their chipboard! I thought I'd taken a close up of their title piece, Memories is a SRTC product and it has been covered in Perfect Pearls.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hey crafty friends! I have been teaching alot more lately and I LOVE IT! I have always enjoyed teaching and as I start to feel stronger I am getting out to teach fun mixed media classes such as this one. I had and have a few dates where I had been asked to teach and so I sat down to decide on and make up a fun canvas that wouldn't be too costly to make at some weekend crops and I knew I wanted to use this quote I'd seen on <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/graphicat/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a> of course! I wasn't completely sure how I was gonna do it but I knew I wanted to change up how I did the back ground and I wanted a *spring-like* feel to it. When I walked into my favorite scrappy store *Clipper Street* in Langley and saw this <a href="http://www.trimcraft.co.uk/products/730/forget-me-not" target="_blank">Dovecraft paper pack</a> the entire canvas just came to me! I LOVE IT when it happens that quickly! haha as I have mentioned before, creating is not always an *easy* process for me and it can be almost painful at times...this was not one of those times and it was a breath of fresh air!!! Just like in the SPRING!! haha<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Now I am teaching this class at a couple more events so I wont give you TOO many details. If you are interested in having me come teach for you, please feel free to contact me at graphicat creations (all one word) at gmail dot com.<br />
<br />
I will post some more details for you, a few pics of the process, after I am done with the last class.<br />
Talk to you soon and thank you for looking!!!</div>

Helloooooooo!!! **I swear I can hear an echo in here** lol<br />
So awhile back it was a dear friend of mines birthday and I'd been saving a quote in mind for something for her when I was finally able to make something for her! I promised myself awhile back that I would eventually make every one of my dear friends one of my canvas wall hangings, and it was Marianne's turn. :) I of course... left it to the last minute and well, lol ... I worked on it right up till the minute I had to leave for our monthly girls birthday lunch! It was still wet in places when I gave it to her!!!! haha!! So... I did not get a chance to photograph it before I gave it to her. So this past weekend when some of us got together again to do alittle crafting I asked her to bring it along so I could finally take a picture of it and post it on here for all to see!!!<br />
<br />
Marianne is a teacher of little ones, and if you KNOW me IRL you know that I admire anyone who can surround themselves with other peoples children all day and not go stark raving mad (or maybe they already are.... wink wink) Anyhow, I found this quote on <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/graphicat/" target="_blank">Pinterest of course... cause I LOVE PINTEREST... follow me here if you like it too?!?!?</a> and knew I had to save it for Marianne.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k_uI6qIDyMs/VRwbRlR5C6I/AAAAAAAAD-I/Dydgf0bl1P4/s1600/Little%2BMinds.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k_uI6qIDyMs/VRwbRlR5C6I/AAAAAAAAD-I/Dydgf0bl1P4/s1600/Little%2BMinds.jpg" height="400" width="397" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i>It takes a Big Heart and alot of coffee, to teach little minds</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
OK so I may have added the coffee part myself... but you get the idea. hehe I found that postcard/vintage photo in some epherma I got from Limor Webber when I took one of her classes last fall, then I searched around my studio for various items one might find in a classroom like the pencils and crayons. I just LOVE making drips with my hot glue gun so I made some melting crayon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-om4trkrFajM/VRwbRnAFf2I/AAAAAAAAD-Q/cRjiTs1jNe8/s1600/Little%2BMinds%2Btitle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-om4trkrFajM/VRwbRnAFf2I/AAAAAAAAD-Q/cRjiTs1jNe8/s1600/Little%2BMinds%2Btitle.jpg" height="221" width="320" /></a></div>
Now... does anyone else have this problem a lot ^^^ pictures that save sideways?? I know I rotated them in my editing software and they are saved upright but when I import them here or in FB they turn themselves back over... any advice on how to fix this? It happens almost every single time now for me.....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uu0kuzG2pRE/VRwbR4WNVUI/AAAAAAAAD-M/SLblNcJA6kE/s1600/Little%2BMinds%2Bdrip.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uu0kuzG2pRE/VRwbR4WNVUI/AAAAAAAAD-M/SLblNcJA6kE/s1600/Little%2BMinds%2Bdrip.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
.... a lot!! ugh! OK... so... did you also know that my old buddies over at <a href="http://southernchipboard.blogspot.ca/2015/04/april-challenge-anything-goes.html#comment-form" target="_blank">Southern Ridge Trading Co are now hosting monthly challenges</a>?!?!? They are!!! I am so excited for them! And since I have used some cool, fancy stars on this canvas I am going to enter this over there on their first Anything Goes challenge!!! You should too!!! Ok... I'm gonna fly off now and see what kind of art stuff I can get into today! :)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Happy Crafting friends!</div>

Hello bloggers! I have been posting alot on FaceBook and I really need to spread myself out some on the various social networks and blogging. I have been with Google + for awhile now and I will have to fix some of my links on the side bar here. I will post some of them in this post for you as well at the end. I just wanted to jump on here and share my latest art journal entry. This wasn't for life book, it was just for me, for fun. :) LOng time ago I started watching Vicki from Clips and Cuts art journal videos (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbtWi24JfohnP-sNaVGv-LQ" target="_blank">if you don't know who Im talking about you MUST check her stuff out!</a>) and well I just wanted to do something sort of in her style. So I reverted back to my favorite theme in my art and that is COFFEE of course! haha<br />
<br />
I started with the awesome new Prima paper pads Jodi Lee Butterfly Collection. These papers are not only stunning, but I swear are made for us collage loving mixed media artists!! I loved this one of course as it was full of tea cups and pretty scripts and flowers, Stunning really. I have used them in the background as well as I drew and cut out the cups and the letters on this paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-49F-b4y8HZg/VP4TQskk9NI/AAAAAAAAD6s/dMo0AwKu7dw/s1600/Big%2BCups.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-49F-b4y8HZg/VP4TQskk9NI/AAAAAAAAD6s/dMo0AwKu7dw/s1600/Big%2BCups.jpg" height="432" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Im not sure how everyone else is when they are creating but sometimes the process for me is almost painful! I get stuck, hate where things are going, agonize over colours and ugh.. sometimes it takes so long as I hate the work almost all the way thru and refuse to give up!! And while this one started that way abit, after I put the background down and used some TH Stencils for the damask texture I just stopped and was worried this was going to be another one of *those* type pages. But then I went to work on it yesterday and it just flowed freely! Much like the coffee pouring out of the cups! And now I'm really happy about it and I think I will turn this one into a canvas soon. (right now I have 2 other paintings on the go and some classes to design FIRST!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Now I took some other photos of this, close ups of each page, but I have a really tough time with Blogger lately rotating my photos on their side... Anyone else have this issue? I will resave them over and over trying to get the file right but... I don't know what I am doing wrong. I will post them on the following social sites if you wanna check them all out!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So as I am healing I am not only getting more and more creative, but I've started teaching again. I taught the little ART canvas (see previous post) at a local fundraising crop for the Womens Shelter here in town. I am working out some classes to begin teaching at our local Dollar craft store starting the beginning of March and this mixed media canvas I am teaching at another fundraising crop coming up in 2 weeks. I really enjoy teaching and I'm excited to get started again. I will also be making youTube videos with tips, techniques and just fun artsy stuff! Stay tuned!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
OK... so this fun little flower pot is SO fun to make! You get nice and dirty playing with collage, gellatoes, whipped spackle and stamps... we're using them all and more!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Obn75De3Ibo/VNfGFKZbf0I/AAAAAAAADvw/xuwZUBd8Y44/s1600/Every%2BFlower%2BMM%2BCanvas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Obn75De3Ibo/VNfGFKZbf0I/AAAAAAAADvw/xuwZUBd8Y44/s1600/Every%2BFlower%2BMM%2BCanvas.jpg" height="400" width="301" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After the class is finished I will post a youTube video on how to make this as well as provide a template for you all to print and use to cut out the above shapes if you're not confident in your drawing abilities. I just loved this saying I found for it as well, it's symbolic to me right now as I'm hoping the Spring to my long winter is arriving and I can grow out of the *dirt* and bloom again. It's been a tough haul.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm really glad you stopped by here, please, let me know if you're interested in my teaching anywhere. Or just any questions you might have in general.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy creating peeps!!!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hello crafty peeps! I'm back with a post about this fun mixed media class I taught recently at a local Fundraising crop here in Williams Lake. This class was fun and I think everyone enjoyed getting their fingers inky and learning a few new tricks! As I am feeling better I am starting to teach more and more, stay tuned this week for some dates and info on my upcoming classes here at Dollar Dollar in Williams Lake! I will be starting with a Mixed Media class and then a scrapbook class!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So below, in my favorite colour pink...of course! Is a little reminder to myself to just create..stop over thinking everything! Are you guilty of this? staring at a blank page or canvas ... like you're about to bungee jump?? Oh! I get SO MAD at myself! lol Recently I was in a class by the FABULOUS Ms. <a href="http://dinawakley.com/" target="_blank">Dina Wakley</a> and she said something that really hit me (in fact I think it will be the title of my next canvas!) she said *<b><i>They will ALWAYS make more paper!</i></b>* Right?? how friggin obvious is that? What does it matter? rip it out, gesso over it, give it to the kids to use, line the dog crate... whatever! Just don't worry so much! Ugh! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0eNk1CdVq7Q/VNgGmDvCpAI/AAAAAAAADww/ZA42OfPb1Bw/s1600/Art%2Bsmall%2Bart.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0eNk1CdVq7Q/VNgGmDvCpAI/AAAAAAAADww/ZA42OfPb1Bw/s1600/Art%2Bsmall%2Bart.jpg" height="400" width="308" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So there are the usual layers under here, some texture paste, drywall tape, lace, ribbons... the I've layered some beat up paint brushes and pencils in a little bundle and abit of chipboard shapes (some from my favorite Canadian laser cut chipboard place <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/" target="_blank">Southern Ridge</a>).</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_BIVZz9ibGI/VNgGmH9aCCI/AAAAAAAADw8/BzDyQPKSIxE/s1600/Art%2Bsmall%2Bartboard%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_BIVZz9ibGI/VNgGmH9aCCI/AAAAAAAADw8/BzDyQPKSIxE/s1600/Art%2Bsmall%2Bartboard%2B1.jpg" height="250" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then we covered it all with a light coating of gesso, (I say light as I like some of the colour of the items underneath to show thru) And we began to spray and spritz with various glimmer sprays from <a href="http://www.lindystampgang.com/" target="_blank">Lindy's Stamp Gang.</a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jgCSJkmQBwo/VNgGmFdusuI/AAAAAAAADw0/_fXa3rI8UC4/s1600/Art%2Bsmall%2Bartboard%2BDont%2BOverthink.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jgCSJkmQBwo/VNgGmFdusuI/AAAAAAAADw0/_fXa3rI8UC4/s1600/Art%2Bsmall%2Bartboard%2BDont%2BOverthink.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The shiny frame in the centre ART was made with some fun frames from Maya Road, the inside peice we used some collage paper as a background, I wrote out the word ART with some liquid pearls and then when it dried I filled in the centre with some glossy accents! It looks like glass or water... LOVE IT!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Wf3KaqO1DCc/VNgGnAYEGGI/AAAAAAAADxA/va6MSnknHJ4/s1600/Art%2Bsmall%2Bartboard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Wf3KaqO1DCc/VNgGnAYEGGI/AAAAAAAADxA/va6MSnknHJ4/s1600/Art%2Bsmall%2Bartboard.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
OK! So as I said earlier I am going to be making some youtube videos and I will make another one of these quick little boards for you to watch and give it a try.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hey my friends. Ive got a big post for you today, to post a few of my life book classes. Im not sure I will always post the assignments. For instance there's one bonus class I'm not posting as I just do not like my result and while the perfectionist in me says keep pushing and either work it to death or start over, that's not the point to Life Book I don't think. Plus, I don't want to post a big description on HOW each page is done as it's really the instructors techniques and concepts so it's really up to them to release their secrets. you really should join if you can....it's amazing!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok so week 4 was a fun little lesson by <a href="http://www.pbsartstudio.com/" target="_blank">Patti Ballard</a> where she shows us how to paint the cutest little ballerina on a tight rope. Her example was adorable but I was convinced I had to make her into a curvy girl and this young lady emerged. I'm really happy with her.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RiEATMwNXYU/VNe2O-0OO4I/AAAAAAAADvI/GoS_9C5uZEs/s1600/Wk4%2BBallerina.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RiEATMwNXYU/VNe2O-0OO4I/AAAAAAAADvI/GoS_9C5uZEs/s1600/Wk4%2BBallerina.jpg" height="400" width="292" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The next week was with <a href="http://rachaelrice.com/category/dream-catchers/" target="_blank">Rachael Rice</a> and we were to make a dream catcher. And while I love the symbolism of a dream catcher.... I'm not a fan of the actual thing, I think it's because they traditionally are made of animal hides and I just can't take that.... I know, silly, but it's who I am. However! I have been following some amazing artists who paint the most amazing Mandala's and I've been wanting to give it a try, so I did and made that the center of the dream catcher instead. I wasn't really happy with how it turned out but I did like the rest. Of course my word for the year is HEAL but I've also been struggling with TRUST lately... trust in myself and others, I don't like that and need to work on that alot this year. so here is my dream catcher...</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-coSSTpZ6zI0/VNe2RsTu_AI/AAAAAAAADvY/OCDYE5LyyQk/s1600/Wk5%2BDream%2BCatcher%2Bc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-coSSTpZ6zI0/VNe2RsTu_AI/AAAAAAAADvY/OCDYE5LyyQk/s1600/Wk5%2BDream%2BCatcher%2Bc.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, while the original instructions called for a collage, I just drew the whole thing. Most area's are painted with either acrylic or ink. I coloured the feathers and other dangly bits with pencil crayons. I need to use them more... they're an old favorite from childhood.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tc6WfArJgYc/VNe2R0-4jvI/AAAAAAAADvU/Sb1IIGl-DOc/s1600/Wk5%2BDream%2BCatcher.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tc6WfArJgYc/VNe2R0-4jvI/AAAAAAAADvU/Sb1IIGl-DOc/s1600/Wk5%2BDream%2BCatcher.jpg" height="400" width="301" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And last up is Week 6 and a super fun and inspiring class taught by our awesome leader herself, Miss <a href="http://www.willowing.org/" target="_blank">Tamara Laporte</a>. Im falling in love with this adorable lady and talented instructor and artist! She's just amazing. This awesome class is again and collage of layers and various mediums but my goodness... the result is fun and different than I thought I'd do. I even stuck to the plan this go around!!! haha!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-edbQQ10om2s/VNe2Rg6BRPI/AAAAAAAADvQ/K1OcDfbRpjc/s1600/Wk6%2BColour%2BValue.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-edbQQ10om2s/VNe2Rg6BRPI/AAAAAAAADvQ/K1OcDfbRpjc/s1600/Wk6%2BColour%2BValue.jpg" height="400" width="302" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My subject matter IS different than the original... but it is MY life book so... it needs cats and coffee in as many pages as I can get them into! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok... so there you have it! the last few week classes. I am getting faster as I get more and more comfortable with my own abilities and it's not like giving birth anymore! haha as we all know, they more you create, the easier it becomes. :) So I am actualy getting time to do some other projects. So stay tuned as I'll have some more posts and mixed media fun to show you very soon!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thank you SO much for stopping by!</div>

This was a super fun week for me! I love text, words, quotes, typography... all of it... maybe it's the graphic designer in me but it's always been a passion of mine. So I was so excited to find it the focus this week and the wonderful Joanne Sharpe was our teacher!! I loved what she taught us so much that I went a tad crazy... I found a quote that I love about art rather than use the exact one she gave us in the lesson and then I just got carried away doodling around the letters... haha! Its the combination of the constant inspiration I get from the Life Book community AND the fact that my new studio is so easy and accessible to me right now but I literally do not want to do ANYTHING else.. I just want to draw and paint and glue stuff together! ha! So... well I'll show ya what I mean.... here's my entry for the week!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wkDsHCvj1WU/VLlyvnnA7bI/AAAAAAAACY8/KtMNr9c0kN4/s1600/Wk3%2BArt%2Bof%2BWhimsy%2BLettering.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wkDsHCvj1WU/VLlyvnnA7bI/AAAAAAAACY8/KtMNr9c0kN4/s1600/Wk3%2BArt%2Bof%2BWhimsy%2BLettering.jpg" height="400" width="281" /></a></div>
OK... so see what I mean?? There is ALOT going on here. It was fun so that's really all that matters to me. :) I loved how easy the lettering was, I of course erased and re drew them a few times but not nearly as many as usual honest! and then... I wanted to add a cat somewhere cause I always want a cat involved somewhere and that's when the insanity kicked in and I just kept drawing and drawing and drawing... LOL on well. It's a fun piece. I used my watercolours, they really don't get used enough, they aren't a medium that comes really easy to me like acrylics do, I think it's cause you have to work quite quickly so that you don't let them dry that makes it hard for me as I over analyze every paint stroke, but it's good for me to have to work fast too so I pledge to use them more!!! Here's a couple close ups for you...<br />
First the top part, doesn't the cat sitting top of the Worst word look like Lil'Bub? it was an accident but then I added the little tongue just to make it her. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-P15tITgUyeM/VLl1Bvw5IUI/AAAAAAAACZE/S3LNEplbiBs/s1600/Wk3%2BArt%2Bof%2BWhimsy%2BLettering%2Bt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-P15tITgUyeM/VLl1Bvw5IUI/AAAAAAAACZE/S3LNEplbiBs/s1600/Wk3%2BArt%2Bof%2BWhimsy%2BLettering%2Bt.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I plan to go back over the creativity again, the pink is abit splotchy but I was excited to post as well as I have a bunch of other projects I NEED to work on... I've just been having fun playing with Life Book and reorganizing the studio I'm falling behind on some other projects! Such a tough life problem eh?? lol<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rAS3lN_7bvU/VLl1gbnZhcI/AAAAAAAACZc/CSwgv_TIzKA/s1600/Wk3%2BArt%2Bof%2BWhimsy%2BLettering%2Bm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rAS3lN_7bvU/VLl1gbnZhcI/AAAAAAAACZc/CSwgv_TIzKA/s1600/Wk3%2BArt%2Bof%2BWhimsy%2BLettering%2Bm.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
And then of course the bottom portion.. soooo many cats! haha! I wish I could have so many. However, I'd be divorced for sure! hehe<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-85QExOxFfzc/VLl1Bw7OxsI/AAAAAAAACZI/h55K6y9ULUU/s1600/Wk3%2BArt%2Bof%2BWhimsy%2BLettering%2Bb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-85QExOxFfzc/VLl1Bw7OxsI/AAAAAAAACZI/h55K6y9ULUU/s1600/Wk3%2BArt%2Bof%2BWhimsy%2BLettering%2Bb.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, in case you're having a tough time figuring out what it says cause I have SOOO much going on in here. (which is exactly why I used my neon coloured acrylics on the lettering to make them stand out) the saying is...</div>
<h4 style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
"The Worst Enemy of Creativity is Self Doubt"</h4>
<div>
I loved this cause it really is so true, I have to remind myself this alot as well as others. In the Life Book Group itself there are alot that need to hear this as well! Ok... I must go paint something else now!!!</div>
<div>
Happy creating peeps!!!</div>

OK.. sorry for the multiple posts in one day! I would have posted the two together but I really wanted to separate them or else the post would have been huge! This was our first official lesson/project/page for our life book. WOW! Is all I have to say... SO freaking glad I joined this, I can feel the creativity and inspiration swirling around in my heart and head (its really bad for the insomnia issues but GREAT for my emotional being)!! This lesson really surprised me... Tamara LaPorte taught us this concept, to create a *Beacon of Light* to guide us thru and light up our creative path this year. When I started to see all the other lifers *Beacons* I admired them but wasn't sure if it was my style...should I do exactly as she has? How much do I let my own style introduce itself? Will they get along... I really over think stuff!! Seriously! (that really comes into the story of this peace later.... ) I did decide pretty early on that I was not going to use the same colour scheme... I am just not a fan of yellow or gold so I knew I didn't want this creation to be golden, in my universe, *the light* is white or silvery. And then of course you all know my love of all things PINK! and Cats!!! I did follow the lesson pretty close with just changing the colour to my true self... and as I drew, everything just kind of came to me and flowed onto the paper without me hardly thinking. here she is and I'll talk about some of what she means to me below...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iQrQFXdMg_E/VLMGCCsJohI/AAAAAAAACYI/yF1jtxiRwiY/s1600/wk1%2BBeacon%2Bof%2BLight1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iQrQFXdMg_E/VLMGCCsJohI/AAAAAAAACYI/yF1jtxiRwiY/s1600/wk1%2BBeacon%2Bof%2BLight1.jpg" height="400" width="307" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok... so there is so much in here that has significance for me. obviously the colour! plus my I truly beleive I always have an angel (my grandmother) as well as a spirit guide (a cat). The cat is really a special icon for me and I will almost always find a way to include a cat in my works. This cat friend I have drawn here also holds a pencil in his tail, an important part of who I am. And if you look closely, the arms are covered in Hearts... cause I wear my heart on my sleeve where everyone can see. In my other hand, I hold a coffee mug... I always want more coffee!!!!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vrvJJRXU8wI/VLMH2kAlyoI/AAAAAAAACYc/M9Rj5L2ko0w/s1600/wk1%2BBeacon%2Bof%2BLight%2Bcat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vrvJJRXU8wI/VLMH2kAlyoI/AAAAAAAACYc/M9Rj5L2ko0w/s1600/wk1%2BBeacon%2Bof%2BLight%2Bcat.jpg" height="320" width="224" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The bubbles came to me in my meditation we did to kick start our creative process, they remind me of a nice hot bath, washing off the pain of the last few years so I'm starting off on a fresh, clean start!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PgrLfrRObD0/VLMH3FvVlBI/AAAAAAAACYg/Hjypp4P828A/s1600/wk1%2BBeacon%2Bof%2BLight%2Bface.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PgrLfrRObD0/VLMH3FvVlBI/AAAAAAAACYg/Hjypp4P828A/s1600/wk1%2BBeacon%2Bof%2BLight%2Bface.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
OK... so the tiara is just to make me smile... of course I love all things sparkly... and my sweet boys treat me like a princess. I try to not behave like one TOO much. :) OK... That is prolly enough chatter for today. Thank you so much for visiting!!! I can't wait to see what tomorrows project will be!!<br />
See you really soon!!<br />

Ok!!! So I can not wait to tell you about <a href="http://willowinglove.blogspot.co.uk/p/life-book-2015.html" target="_blank">Life Book</a>... or maybe most of you have heard about it and I'm just last one on the train as is usual in my world! haha! That's ok, at least I'm on the train! I have been searching for something like this to do this year but I was just really not sure what I was going to do, then on NEw Years Eve I stumbled on <a href="http://willowinglove.blogspot.co.uk/p/life-book-2015.html" target="_blank">Life Book</a>... I signed up before I could think about it too long and WOW! im so glad I did! Many of you will know from following me for a time that I've been battling with not only a bad chronic pain disorder (back surgery and Fibromyalgia) and brought along with that I have been struggling with clinical depression. It's been a really tough few years.... But I am determined to change my life this year and LB I can honestly say has opened the door for me! I was not only excited about the weekly journal courses but pleasantly surprised to discover the self care and inner self exploration (if that's the right term??) Funny how the universe works sometimes isn't it? (sorry for the long babbling post, bear with me) Before Christmas, at a girls luncheon a dear friend, who's been worried about my depression, gave me a very special gift. A gift of a book on meditation and a crystal... I've been trying to find an alternative way to deal with my pain and my depression rather than the host of Rx meds I take currently. and I was excited to give meditation a try. Well I was just so surprised when I discovered <a href="http://willowinglove.blogspot.co.uk/p/life-book-2015.html" target="_blank">Tam (LB</a> founder extrodinaire) does guided meditaion as a part of Lefe Book!!! How freaking cool is that! OK... I'll try to say less and show more!! lol<br />
<br />
FIRST lesson was to listen and follow a guided meditation (you do not NEED to do the meditation if it's not your thing!) and during the meditation see what comes to you... A word or feeling you want to express this year? An affirmation? What? And for me, in my meditation I saw a cherry tree in bloom, everything was pink and soft and pretty and there was a swing.... So when we had our warm up excersize which was mostly a mixed media collage... this is what I came up with.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7bkP2QLo97U/VLLXiW9I7yI/AAAAAAAACXk/66YfBt2CVpE/s1600/wk1%2BWarm%2BUp.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7bkP2QLo97U/VLLXiW9I7yI/AAAAAAAACXk/66YfBt2CVpE/s1600/wk1%2BWarm%2BUp.jpg" height="400" width="292" /></a></div>
I used gelatoes and stamps... alittle drawing... it was so fun and not really in my comfort zone...which is much stiffer and shall I say Anal? lol My word for this year is HEAL...for obvious reasons.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x2Q9y6rNN9M/VLLY2WTH-gI/AAAAAAAACXw/7KBelwnm3gc/s1600/wk1%2BWarm%2BUp%2Bword.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x2Q9y6rNN9M/VLLY2WTH-gI/AAAAAAAACXw/7KBelwnm3gc/s1600/wk1%2BWarm%2BUp%2Bword.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
But I don't just mean physically heal (altho that is taking it's sweet-ass time I might add!!) but emotionally and mentally... I need to HEAL. I wrote a few affirmations down.... Many LBers put their afirmations in a little envelope, but mine are out in the open as I am always an open book. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6vlYRGRWUX4/VLLZBblnYFI/AAAAAAAACX4/5XMooklUSH8/s1600/wk1%2BWarm%2BUp%2Bquote.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6vlYRGRWUX4/VLLZBblnYFI/AAAAAAAACX4/5XMooklUSH8/s1600/wk1%2BWarm%2BUp%2Bquote.jpg" height="400" width="227" /></a></div>
There's a quote there that I love and it speaks to me... but it's hard to see in the picture so I'll write it here for you.<br />
<i><b><span style="font-size: large;">*Sometimes we stand in that place too long between giving up or seeing just how much we can take... Before you give up, Look How Far You've Come!*</span></b></i><br />
I have come a long way from where I was, I have to remember that. My affirmations for the year are to:<br />
~Breathe in the Future. Breathe out the Past<br />
~You ARE strong enough!<br />
~Be Healthy!!!!<br />
~Take good care of myself<br />
<br />
OK.. that's it for this first post of my<a href="http://willowinglove.blogspot.co.uk/p/life-book-2015.html" target="_blank"> Life Book journey! Maybe you want to join us???</a></div>

Hello my crafty friends. It's the new year!! And it's going to be MY year! I am determined to let this be the most creative year of my life!! I hope you are ready to see EVERYTHING along the way too! I will have another post later today or tomorrow talking about the AWESOME Life Book 2015 I have signed up for but for now I have a project I finished quite some time ago last year that I had made for another member of my Fibromyalgia support Family, she FINALLY has it in her possession so I can show it to you now!<br />
I had seen a couple *reverse canvas* projects and I was just dying to give one a try. I still have some great product from Southern Ridge Trading Co and so I wanted to highlight some of that great stuff!! (while I had to step down from the DT for a time as I was in a dark time, I'm hoping they'll have me back someday... soon?) So!! Here it is! I'll give some details below!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Pn6af8FT2pM/VLGCHsroqKI/AAAAAAAACXQ/vpc_OI6qwJ8/s1600/FibroFamily.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Pn6af8FT2pM/VLGCHsroqKI/AAAAAAAACXQ/vpc_OI6qwJ8/s1600/FibroFamily.jpg" height="295" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, this is not the greatest picture (I'm going to have to work on my photography skills when it comes to my work), sorry bout that. I have used some metal tape, embosssed and then I used alcohol inks and black acrylic paint to distress it inside the frame, and then I've used some script design paper, with distress stain on the frame itself. <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories/frames-borders-corners.htm" target="_blank">That Butterfly corner piece,</a> <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories/welded-words.htm" target="_blank">The Family title</a> and the clock piece are all from Southern Ridge</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_oPDzW3gROU/VLGCHa-URdI/AAAAAAAACXM/D_Oz7hbKGZc/s1600/FibroFamilyFamily.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_oPDzW3gROU/VLGCHa-URdI/AAAAAAAACXM/D_Oz7hbKGZc/s1600/FibroFamilyFamily.jpg" height="195" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've covered them in some Glitter Ritz Purple glitter... sooo sparkly.... and then I just had fun adding STUFF that I knew my dear Traci would love. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Okey Dokey friends! I'm gonna go back to the easle now and finish up the current painting so I can post it and tell you about the AWESOME Life Book!!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thanks for looking!!!</div>

Ooooh! 2 blog posts in a week!!! I'm back friends! Today tho I'm sharing a painting I have been working on bit by bit this fall (oops and now winter? although it's looking like spring outside here right now). I am really feeling inspired lately, inspired to paint more! Actually I always have a bunch of plans and ideas running through my head, I just either don't feel up to it or busy or whatever other life excuse throws in my path. But, I'm not gonna focus on that and just show you my colorful fun painting that may be my new favorite piece!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X8jKoeJ02Xc/VItY-1WDgkI/AAAAAAAACWg/w7_0G8FwgyA/s1600/Fall%2BFarm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X8jKoeJ02Xc/VItY-1WDgkI/AAAAAAAACWg/w7_0G8FwgyA/s1600/Fall%2BFarm.jpg" height="322" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here it is!!! The photos not great and sorry bout the watermark (so many horror stories of art being stolen online I'm a tad paranoid) but isn't it bright and cheerful?? Ussually after I work on something so long I come to hate it... I think that's fairly common in an artists world... but this one I have always loved. It took a while longer than I would have liked but hey, no worries... it's done now. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think one of my favorite parts is of my handsome black cat (my own Monster kitten is sitting right by me as I type, he's always with me). he's cute right?</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qSYwEPJBFKU/VItZBU5YMXI/AAAAAAAACWo/VZZAv5NNnMc/s1600/Fall%2BFarm%2BCat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qSYwEPJBFKU/VItZBU5YMXI/AAAAAAAACWo/VZZAv5NNnMc/s1600/Fall%2BFarm%2BCat.jpg" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also LOVE the barn and truck. When I started the painting I had in mind an old farm truck I used to ride around my Uncles farm with my dear Uncle Roy. That truck was OLD 20 years ago when I was in it, rusted out, springs sticking outta the seats, completely rusted... it was AWESOME! It's still there, on the farm, but sadly it doesn't go far these days. I was searching for a picture of it but can't seem to find it.... Anyhow, I had to brighten the colour up as the rusty brown colour was fading into the dirt. Love how it turned out.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ABzArSivrAw/VItZBu8jG6I/AAAAAAAACWs/LRvCVvC6yMo/s1600/Fall%2BFarm%2Btruck.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ABzArSivrAw/VItZBu8jG6I/AAAAAAAACWs/LRvCVvC6yMo/s1600/Fall%2BFarm%2Btruck.jpg" height="400" width="276" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you like it as much as I do! Now... on to my next work!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hi Everyone! Long Lost blogging Graphicat here! LOL I promise I have not fallen off the planet and quit being creative! I've actually working on a lot of different projects lately. Some are Christmas gifts that I don't want to show before they go to their new homes... and then I just have a hundred little and bigger projects on the go these days. I've been really focusing on the art side of things lately, drawing and painting. I especially am loving all the different art journals and sketch books I've been playing in. This post is about one of these journals I'm kinda pumped about.... I made it... the WHOLE thing! Cool hey?! I am working this one into a future course to go all year in 2015.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3jPfmnesvnY/VITJ3_97UfI/AAAAAAAACVw/HrOkCrVS_7Y/s1600/CanvasDIYJournal.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3jPfmnesvnY/VITJ3_97UfI/AAAAAAAACVw/HrOkCrVS_7Y/s1600/CanvasDIYJournal.jpg" height="320" width="222" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First! We will make this journal by hand using up scrap papers from your stash! Wrapped in canvas that we have gesso'd and painted, drawn on, glued on...whatever tickles your fancy. I drew this coffee mug as you all know that's one of my obsessions! Then we put together sleeves of various papers and bind them into the journal. Now I don't know why I didn't take a picture to show you the inside, I'll see if I can find one to show ya later!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next we will work on different techniques and projects to fill up this journal. One of my many obsessions right now is Zentangles! LOVE these! I can sit in the living room with my boys and watch TV with them while almost mindlessly doodling these different patterns! So fun! I will cover lots of these different patterns in this class if you're interested, maybe even do a complete separate class just teaching the xentangle basics. If you're curious, check out my <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/graphicat/zen/" target="_blank">Zen Pinterest Board</a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This first page below is my favorite design to doodle, it looks like basket weaving. Then I followed an idea I saw on pinterest and added designs to the ribbons on the weave AND then coloured them with Prisma Pencils and Gel pens! This page is 6"x12" kraft, one of the smaller size papers that are in this journal, I love having different sizes and patterns in here!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-C98a8HeHKjo/VITJ6khjexI/AAAAAAAACV4/8b2vo9_L2pk/s1600/Basket%2BWeave.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-C98a8HeHKjo/VITJ6khjexI/AAAAAAAACV4/8b2vo9_L2pk/s1600/Basket%2BWeave.jpg" height="159" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Another Zentangle doodle I loved doing is this heart flourish below! this one is really SO easy and looks so pretty I think, on kraft paper and coloured with fun gel pens!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RIHo00HMFB4/VITKCNQmVJI/AAAAAAAACWQ/xWhHvf0S-E8/s1600/HeartFlorish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RIHo00HMFB4/VITKCNQmVJI/AAAAAAAACWQ/xWhHvf0S-E8/s1600/HeartFlorish.jpg" height="320" width="201" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
haha... OK... so apparantly I'm on a kraft paper kick! I just LOVE how prismacolours look on the kraft. Especially the white!!! OMG! in love!!! Another passion of mine is lettering and quotes and I'me having such fun drawing out these kinda DIY graphics!! Another fun class to teach in the art journaling club!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wAFXB66HRdM/VITJ-l3dcgI/AAAAAAAACWA/65rMT7ZUaMs/s1600/Darkness.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wAFXB66HRdM/VITJ-l3dcgI/AAAAAAAACWA/65rMT7ZUaMs/s1600/Darkness.jpg" height="320" width="211" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Below is another fun page I will just continue to add stuff to, little doodles of my favorite things! I wasn't really happy with how the colouring turns out on the patterned paper... but oh well... it's just for fun and trying out ideas! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i_qfyUbMGeo/VITKAb_ucAI/AAAAAAAACWI/6SgC4TLqLxg/s1600/FavoriteThings.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i_qfyUbMGeo/VITKAb_ucAI/AAAAAAAACWI/6SgC4TLqLxg/s1600/FavoriteThings.jpg" height="320" width="218" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That's it for today! Just an example of some fun I'm having in this journal and planing out some classes to teach in 2015! I will be making youtube videos of the class as well so stay tuned!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So glad you stopped by!! </div>

So I have ventured away from paper-crafts somewhat the past month or so and I have really started enjoying my creativity and venturing out in the art world. As many of you know it's been a REALLY tough few years for me...I am on the mend from my back surgery but it's a long and bumpy road. Drawing, painting and just creating has become my safe place and I try to do a little of it every day... I can't always do much but a little is better than nothing.<br />
<br />
So!! A couple weeks ago at a fun girls creative get together we had a little surprise party for one of my dear friends Tanya <a href="http://obsessed-crazymomma.blogspot.ca/" target="_blank">(Obsessed Crazy Momma if you wanna check her blog out!!)</a> joined us in the 40 something club! I had not gotten time to do one of my mixed media canvases together for her as I was busy painting some new pieces for the Williams Lake Art Walk, so I took a new canvas and wrote on it for her that I would paint her a special piece on this canvas.... and so here it is!!! I hope you like it my friend as It's a hard one to part with!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tW4_JjNH4Zg/VAN2DZUclAI/AAAAAAAACUM/5nwKyooKNGg/s1600/Coffee%2BCats.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tW4_JjNH4Zg/VAN2DZUclAI/AAAAAAAACUM/5nwKyooKNGg/s1600/Coffee%2BCats.jpg" height="288" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
So I have been on this cats and coffee theme for a while, combining my two favorite things! Which I know Tanya is pretty fond of as well. She has had a siamese (one of my favorite cats too) as well as a tabby so I wanted them to be special. And I LOVE coffee mugs! Drives my hubby nuts as I'm the only coffee/tea drinker in the house but I'm ALWAYS buying new funky mugs! So I used a little inspiration from my <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/graphicat/zen/" target="_blank">zentangle pinterest board</a> to make up the patterns. I also LOVE to make things pop out of the border, so I drew and painted the flowers in the vase on some thick cardboard and then used some matte medium to glue it onto the painting. Here's a few more shots<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dFPT-oQJ02w/VAN2DeCIhrI/AAAAAAAACUI/lbVETnwEYQE/s1600/Coffee%2BCats1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dFPT-oQJ02w/VAN2DeCIhrI/AAAAAAAACUI/lbVETnwEYQE/s1600/Coffee%2BCats1.jpg" height="218" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We also have a cat that looks like this one, her name is Pilchard and she really looks like Tanya's Boomer except that I think Boomer is twice Pilchards size! That teal blue mug is a favorite for me, wish I could find one!!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RieJ_HJm4AY/VAN2EDylQKI/AAAAAAAACUU/BTjO_mRgnrY/s1600/Coffee%2BCats3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RieJ_HJm4AY/VAN2EDylQKI/AAAAAAAACUU/BTjO_mRgnrY/s1600/Coffee%2BCats3.jpg" height="201" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And this pretty little Siamese reminds me of some of the cats I had growing up! Such a wonderful breed of cat! Love their loyalty. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oFwthHjUH4s/VAN2DZRoRgI/AAAAAAAACUQ/JTxFI_LUgGc/s1600/Coffee%2BCats2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oFwthHjUH4s/VAN2DZRoRgI/AAAAAAAACUQ/JTxFI_LUgGc/s1600/Coffee%2BCats2.jpg" height="234" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here's a shot of the flowers. I had asked Tanya what her favorite flower was and she said Lillies, which was not a flower I was used to drawing...I tried! lol I do love how the lilacs came out! They are my favorites! hahaaa I really did paint this for ou Tanya...we just have a lot in common!!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to show you my latest piece I've created. I think it might be one of my favourites I've made so far! I have signed myself up to be in a community art show here in my little hometown. It's called the Art Walk and businesses around town display local artists works, there is a passport that is handed out to people wanting to do the tour and so it gives us artist some exposure and it brings customers who may not have entered businesses before into the stores. I have thought of doing it every year and never have, this year I thought no more waiting, lets DO THIS!! So! it's helped my mojo abit to create more and more pieces for this show.<br />
This particular piece I wanted to create something that described how I feel about art and creating. I found this quote and thought it was PERFECT for how I am feeling right now. I also wanted to join in on the challenge over at<a href="http://mixedmediamc.blogspot.ca/" target="_blank"> Mixed Media Monthly</a> again. They are challenging to use something from around the house that normally is not used for art projects....and I found the perfect items!!! A paper coffee cup and some random cheap and wrecked brushes!!! Curious as to how??? Take a look....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L7YtrYPdIus/U9V6S1Z3LQI/AAAAAAAACS8/6j_Pb7KzU7E/s1600/ART.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L7YtrYPdIus/U9V6S1Z3LQI/AAAAAAAACS8/6j_Pb7KzU7E/s1600/ART.jpg" height="381" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What do you think?? I have first layered down some lace and dry wall tape, then used a memory box stencil of rays with some molding paste to add texture and interest to the background, I laid out the gathered canvas ribbon and croceted lace along the left side there. then I have cut a paper coffee cup in half and glued it down to the canvas. I have then taken some old gummed up brushes to put inside the cup, and a larger 2" bristle brush across the top of the canvas. I've also used some SRTC chipboard shapes as well as some TH grunge board shapes to again add some layers. THEN, my favorite secret weapon!!! Glue guns! I created all that dripping paint on the cup and the big brush with my glue gun. Fun right?!?! I promise to make a tutorial of that very soon. I need my room put back together!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-svWXaE0LDvw/U9V6TgiltqI/AAAAAAAACTI/is5ffQnjL1o/s1600/ART1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-svWXaE0LDvw/U9V6TgiltqI/AAAAAAAACTI/is5ffQnjL1o/s1600/ART1.jpg" height="320" width="211" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The quote I have done in a few different types of letters. It says <b><i>Without ART the crudeness of Reality would make the WORLD Unbearable.</i></b> The large ART is created with some old Basic Grey chippies, the black plastic letters are some from Tim Holtz. Smaller black letter stickers are are from Cosmo Cricket, and they are places on this AWESOME hot pink burlap I found at Michaels!<br />
<br />
OK! So that's it! What do you think? I'm so glad you stopped by! I hope you'll join in with me over at the <a href="http://mixedmediamc.blogspot.ca/" target="_blank">Mixed Media Monthly challenge</a>! They have fun challenges and great sponsors too!!<br />

Hello friends! Thought I'd pop on here quick to show you a completed page in my art journal. I'm not sure how you all journal (if you don't, you should! It really helps wake up the mojo!) but I usually have 2-3-4 pages on the go at one time, and I'm not even sure any are truly finished ever! Sometimes it's easier to just work on a page I've already got started than stare at a blank page wondering where to start. So there's always a few pages to help kickstart my creativity. I also use the journal to try out ideas I see online somewhere to try it out myself before jumping onto a larger canvas or *good* paper.... this entry was one of those type things. I watched this AWESOME video of a <a href="http://%3Ciframe%20width%3D%22560%22%20height%3D%22315%22%20src%3D%22//www.youtube.com/embed/E64Nr00uJ1s?list=FLpsugMB7fV1Vy8yLRoSecww%22%20frameborder=%220%22%20allowfullscreen%3E%3C/iframe%3E" target="_blank">"Splash Eye"</a> It was a really great watercolour and ink type drawing/painting that I HAD to give a try! So, here is my attempt:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QB1L9FPvaco/U8RCQ2K6YOI/AAAAAAAACSg/XES4tnZoids/s1600/Splash+Eye.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QB1L9FPvaco/U8RCQ2K6YOI/AAAAAAAACSg/XES4tnZoids/s1600/Splash+Eye.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, I tried to follow along and do the same as what PeeGeeArts has done, she used a mixture of pen and ink I believe (the video is done on time lapse and she doesn't always show what she is using) but i recoqnie the india ink jars. I used pencil to draw the eye, then I used my H2O's as it's the closest thing to water colour I have right now, plus I love the sparkle! and of course I used pens to outline and draw in the lines of the eye and drip marks. Then, I just started to doodle in that title, I LOVE typography and letters and the art you can make just using them!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
OK, that's all for today, I'll be back soon with more journal entries and mixed media fun!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy Crafting!</div>

Hello Chipboard lovers! It's Cheri again with another canvas done for you using ALOT of Southern Ridge Trading Co laser cut chipboard. I had some fun with this one....of course cause it's ALL in pink! I have always found the more you create, whether it's cards, scrapbooks, paintings, sculpture, that the more you create, the easier it becomes, and since I've been trying to do something creative everyday.... I'm finally feeling the "mojo" and having much more fun! Maybe that's why I didn't even mind using SO MUCH chippy goodness on this one! hahaa! I'm also abit of a hoarder of supplies!<br />
<br />
OK enough chit chat! Here's my pink creation!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qUwd_Bu3jkM/U7N9jqEmTEI/AAAAAAAACQ4/1GZUskMNtiQ/s1600/Memory.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qUwd_Bu3jkM/U7N9jqEmTEI/AAAAAAAACQ4/1GZUskMNtiQ/s1600/Memory.jpg" height="400" width="305" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I Made the first part of this while I was hanging out with one of my besties <a href="http://carlaharkies.blogspot.ca/" target="_blank">(you can check her blog out here, she's pretty awesome!</a>). We had a great day crafting together! As I said I had a fun laying out the start of this, tearing and glueing down some patterned paper, laying out the chipboard where I wanted it. Adding some lace and molding paste, and then of course adding a layer of gesso. And THEN it got hard... lol I took it home and I'm gonna blame that, that I didn't have my craftin buddy with me. Cause after I got home and added some sprays of pink.... I just got stuck in my head. I texted some more friends for help... ack... so disregard the above message about it getting easier! hahaa</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anyhow! Thanks for checking things out, I hope you like!</div>

Hey peeps!! I just thought I'd pop on here quick and show you another entry into my art journal. As you saw earlier I took Dina Wakely's FACEbook class recently and I have commited to drawing 100 faces! I showed you the first "batch" in an earlier post and here is my first full colour page drawing a face. I tried to be free-er with this drawing and not stress too much, I could still loosen up but it's a good start I think. I really enjoyed working on this page, again I'm trying to not overthink too much.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cS9JjLfb_Jk/U7OGDuRg3oI/AAAAAAAACRI/dzsg9oxsof8/s1600/FACE.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cS9JjLfb_Jk/U7OGDuRg3oI/AAAAAAAACRI/dzsg9oxsof8/s1600/FACE.jpg" height="270" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added the SPIRITUALITY saying I found on Pinterest that I really liked. It says</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
~ Religion is for people afraid of going to Hell.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Spirituality is for people who have already been there. ~</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I do hope you like! Its ok if you don't as well, since its really just for me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thanks for stopping by!</div>

This past weekend I was privileged to be able to attend an art class with one of the mixed media, paper crafting, worlds superstars, Ms <a href="http://dinawakley.com/" target="_blank">Dina Wakely</a>. She was visiting Canada, teaching a class at everyone's favorite paper crafting store, <a href="http://clipperstreet.com/" target="_blank">Clipper Street</a> in Langley, BC. I had a BLAST! This lady rocks! And I learned SO MUCH! I took the Face Book Class which was not only fun but really helped me loosen up. Can I just say that when you study art in university that they DO NOT teach you the "easy" way to do anything. In fact I've always felt like if it was too easy, you weren't doing it right! How dumb is that? Anyhow, this class was perfect for me. So I have commited myself to journal everyday, and drawing 100 faces in my art journal till I can do it with my eyes closed (something I tried a few photo's below! haha). Here was my art journey over the weekend!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8qF7nCJAZHc/U6tnnP6w25I/AAAAAAAACOs/VnjB569c0hI/s1600/Dina+Shelley+and+Cheri+close.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8qF7nCJAZHc/U6tnnP6w25I/AAAAAAAACOs/VnjB569c0hI/s1600/Dina+Shelley+and+Cheri+close.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First up, here I am with Dina and my BBFF Shelley on the left.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lrOqgCSX4H8/U6tnpvrKiLI/AAAAAAAACO0/PkYpZFYgn2o/s1600/Dina.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lrOqgCSX4H8/U6tnpvrKiLI/AAAAAAAACO0/PkYpZFYgn2o/s1600/Dina.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here is Dina teaching us a blind contour drawing of one of the students faces.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was my first *Face* drawing after learning the *cheat sheet* or well, prolly the way I shoulda always been drawing portraits! I am not showing you the very first face drawing..... that's just not right! lol I should add that before starting this Dina had us gesso and cover the backgrounds with some fun stencils and sprays, which I quite like the added interest, it's not anything I would have done on my own and I'm glad I did it. This face is drawn with a Stabilo pencil and then gone over with a water brush. Seriously?!?! WHY did no one show me this before?? Ugh.... maybe I was sick that day?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g9p1jWF2jTw/U6toGtSVrWI/AAAAAAAACO8/yL-iufem5KY/s1600/FAce+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g9p1jWF2jTw/U6toGtSVrWI/AAAAAAAACO8/yL-iufem5KY/s1600/FAce+1.jpg" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then after the first try, we again drew over a fun background but this time we painted over top with acrylic paint, using some big bold colours for shadows and not blending it too much. Again, a loose-ness to painting that I have always admired but had difficulty allowing myself to do the same. I will now! I was quite happy with this one.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KKdNbbPojuM/U6toJ8-2FcI/AAAAAAAACPE/cypgRyZFuFo/s1600/Painted+FAce.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KKdNbbPojuM/U6toJ8-2FcI/AAAAAAAACPE/cypgRyZFuFo/s1600/Painted+FAce.jpg" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next we tried using the same rules on a 3/4 view face and I again was quite happy. I was thinking of painting this one as well but Im afraid I'll wreck it (I know...there should be no fear!). As Dina would say, they'll always make more paper!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e7qCHVpUeyw/U6tuBMa2HII/AAAAAAAACQI/vmeOqC9mLmI/s1600/Face+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e7qCHVpUeyw/U6tuBMa2HII/AAAAAAAACQI/vmeOqC9mLmI/s1600/Face+3.jpg" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And then she had us paint a background with some colour blocking for the face to draw over top of. This one looked like a zombie to me at first....sometimes it still does, but that's ok. I enjoyed doing the face either way.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aJgbicCjgt8/U6tuk4rfUwI/AAAAAAAACQQ/JbOxOcHKlTU/s1600/Pink+Face.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aJgbicCjgt8/U6tuk4rfUwI/AAAAAAAACQQ/JbOxOcHKlTU/s1600/Pink+Face.jpg" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And last, but not least, she taught us some contours. Contours are no stranger to me, although it has been a few years since I've done any myself. I used to teach them to kids in Elementary school during the art in schools week when Id volunteer there. First we did a contour face using a reference. I used a magazine photo of Caesar Millan. Then the 2nd was a blind contour in which we started at the reference and did not look at the paper. They're purdy!! lol</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AK6dOIexRKQ/U6toUXReyzI/AAAAAAAACPg/hPWYmZyuLHI/s1600/Contours.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AK6dOIexRKQ/U6toUXReyzI/AAAAAAAACPg/hPWYmZyuLHI/s1600/Contours.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So that was the class. GREAT teacher and learned so much! She's challenged us to draw 100 faces! So I'm ready to go! I have been drawing faces on one page in my journal at nights and here they are. I will continue to show my progress in this new art adventure here!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Thanks for looking!</div>

Hey everyone! I'm back with another inspiration piece for <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories.htm" target="_blank">Southern Ridge Trading co</a>, which if you'd like to see some more details of my project pieces you can visit their blog at <a href="http://southernchipboard.blogspot.ca/2014/06/coffee-and-friends-canvas.html" target="_blank">SRTC</a> blog or, don't forget to join our FaceBook Group as well! There is more and more new shapes being loaded into the website so make sure you go take a look.<br />
<br />
So once again my topic on my canvas is coffee... lol ...hmmm imagine that! I seem to have so much stuff geared toward my caffeine obsession!! And stamps are not exception! My BFF sent me a new stamp recently and I had to try it out here.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JCTUZFu3La4/U6nDaJ-2vPI/AAAAAAAACOc/lPgcNCJZ8es/s1600/Coffee+Friends.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JCTUZFu3La4/U6nDaJ-2vPI/AAAAAAAACOc/lPgcNCJZ8es/s1600/Coffee+Friends.jpg" height="226" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It was an Art Impressions stamp and I just LOVE it! Plus I got this Poloroid die from Stampin Up recently during their Sale-A-Bration event and knew it would be perfect for this. I coloured in Copics and then put the cut frame around the image and painted the whole thing with a DecoArt glaze, it really does look like a Poloraid! Anyhow, the background is covered in lace and molding paste (so much fun!) and then gesso and spray inks. I got to try out the Prima Colour Bloom sprays last weekend at a crop with some friends. I sure do like the spray nozzles on those but the ink itself is very similar to that of Dylusions. I was hoping it was more of a paint than ink spray and might be a little more opaque but, it's still nice stuff! I went over top of the Prima coral colour with some Pink and Gold sprays from my FAV Lindy's Stamp Gang prays till I was happy with the colours and shimmers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b-DLls3TbZU/U6nDZeeWAhI/AAAAAAAACOY/yidHuxBrJoA/s1600/Coffee+Friends2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b-DLls3TbZU/U6nDZeeWAhI/AAAAAAAACOY/yidHuxBrJoA/s1600/Coffee+Friends2.jpg" height="167" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Those cool scrabble letters are from Southern Ridge as well as the sunglasses and the coffee mug. The big Friends word is something I picked up at Michaels awhile ago, I painted it and then added some crackle medium to the top of it.</div>

Hello! Cheri here again with some more inspiration for you! Now, I'm a coffee girl, but I had to use these cute tea themed pieces when Karen at Southern Ridge showed us them! I had seen a quilt pattern I loved on Pinterest and it was my inspiration for this grid pattern wall hanging. And since I'm already late posting (don't even ask...I had to pull this design outta my brain kicking and screaming!!) I better just get to posting!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RNsCZEEVAYk/U5TKcH4vuPI/AAAAAAAACMU/6VNTYrHSEKA/s1600/TeaRiffic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RNsCZEEVAYk/U5TKcH4vuPI/AAAAAAAACMU/6VNTYrHSEKA/s1600/TeaRiffic.jpg" height="622" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So here it is. I have used the <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories.htm" target="_blank">TEA pot, cup and cream and sugar</a> pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Co. As well as those great honey comb pattern peices in each corner. The tea set I have painted with acrylic paint and then I've put crackle medium on them as well. The honeycomb pattern I covered with gesso and then painted them gold with distress paint.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Now the stamps I have used in this project are of course, Graphicat Designs own designs. Please visit my <a href="https://www.facebook.com/Graphicatstamps?ref=bookmarks" target="_blank">FaceBook page for more information on Graphicat products</a><br />

Hello everyone! Im back with another page in my Art Journal Finished (or sorta, I think I will always go back and doodle here and there on the pages!). Anyone who knows me, and even some that dont know me, are aware of my complete love affair with COFFEE! So it's only fitting that at least ONE page in my journal focuses on it! I am sure there will be more.<br />
<br />
So this page started out as an oops! I had gessoed this page quite awhile back... and then completly forgot my head and thought I'd use some Dylusions spray inks on the gesso.. which really does not work out well as they really need a pourous surface to be vibrant. Anyhow, I had wiped the ink off and it just sorta tinted the page a brown colour. So I thought the other day I'd just work on top of it anyhow. It really was just a page I thought I'd not think much about and just DO, which is what a journal should be right?? Anyhow, here's what it looks like now.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-e1GYtMbN7RI/U4jKDCnkhmI/AAAAAAAACLg/33YjRnun7Ps/s1600/CoffeeGirl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-e1GYtMbN7RI/U4jKDCnkhmI/AAAAAAAACLg/33YjRnun7Ps/s1600/CoffeeGirl.jpg" height="424" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
To start off with I took some doily type stamps I had, I believe made by Kaisercraft and stamped them around the edge of the pages, then I drew some lines to make a frame around the page, I used some distress stains to dye the border and stamped some more with script. Then I've had a few of these Bloom Girl stamps from Prima that I LOVE and was dying to use somewhere and stamped her in the bottom right corner.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--hWuJ3HhU4s/U4jKFe3UIjI/AAAAAAAACL4/Q-dcdnlqjAA/s1600/CoffeeGirl3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--hWuJ3HhU4s/U4jKFe3UIjI/AAAAAAAACL4/Q-dcdnlqjAA/s1600/CoffeeGirl3.jpg" height="424" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Isn't she GORGEOUS?!?! Oh how I love her! I tried to color her with some of my gelatoes, but I wasn't really happy with the shading so I added some Copics on top of the gelatoes (not something I recommend to all as they will gum up your nibs, just be warned). I added some drops to the coffee spilling out of the cup on her head, I then drew another coffee mug and the steam coming out of the cups are drawn by me. I love the kind of organic look it all ended up with!<br />
<br />
Then I started on the saying... As I've mentioned before I studied fine art and graphic design in university and fell head over heels in love with typography and creating word art. It has been a long time tho since I hand drew a title like this and I have to say, the but has bitten me and I find I'm doodling letters everywhere!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rabxaZUpIJg/U4jKCkB7AJI/AAAAAAAACLo/cJ1kzHNx4JY/s1600/CoffeeGirl1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rabxaZUpIJg/U4jKCkB7AJI/AAAAAAAACLo/cJ1kzHNx4JY/s1600/CoffeeGirl1.jpg" height="400" width="265" /></a></div>
And here we are! I stamped the the top and bottom letters (Nothing and COFFEE) with an awesome Close To My Heart stamp set and the rest of the title I hand drew. Over all, I was very happy with how this page in my journal worked out!! I hope you do!<br />
Happy crafting! Painting! Drawing!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Welcome back to my blog!! Today I am sharing another mixed media canvas, seems to be all I make lately, which is ok as i love them. Feels like I'm creating more of an art piece than a "papercrafting" piece. Not that there's anything wrong with either, I'm just really trying to get back to creating every single day and drawing and painting my own stuff rather than others (stamps and digis). I think I'm rambling... hehe OK SO! This is a double project as I made it as my project for the <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories.htm" target="_blank">Southern Ridge TRading Co DT</a> but I have been dying to enter into the Lindy's <a href="http://blog.lindystampgang.com/color-challenge-info/" target="_blank">Stamp Gang Colour Challeng</a>e for awhile now and I finally did. I had ordered last months challenge kit and was excited to use it here. So first I will show you my project and discuss the details below...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-N8EUBEC-HeM/U4U373laPnI/AAAAAAAACLI/WK4raciMSYs/s1600/Cowgirl+Up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-N8EUBEC-HeM/U4U373laPnI/AAAAAAAACLI/WK4raciMSYs/s1600/Cowgirl+Up.jpg" height="320" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is a 5"x7" canvas I made with my new Prima Marketing cowgirl stamp, I paper pieced her together and colored her skin with Copics. I had TRIED to make the background look like crackled paint on wood, and it does if you look closely but there's a few extra layers on there than planned! LOL And if I could get the video I made for you all to see the process you would see exactly what I did wrong! LOL Anyhow! Moving along.. for SRTC I have used the large horseshoe, wagon wheel, small horseshoes and the word art COWGIRL, you should be able to find it all <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories/western-rodeo-rustic.htm" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now back to the <a href="http://blog.lindystampgang.com/color-challenge-info/" target="_blank">Lindy's Colour Challenge</a> I used the <a href="http://www.lindystampgang.com/embossing-powders/ep-listed-alphabetically/midnight-copper-obsidian/" target="_blank">Midnight Copper Embossing Powder</a> on that large horseshoe and it turned out AWESOME!!! Check it out!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3HQCwu7iZiI/U4U38YWCwMI/AAAAAAAACLM/ZklBVgdDYbI/s1600/Cowgirl+Up2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3HQCwu7iZiI/U4U38YWCwMI/AAAAAAAACLM/ZklBVgdDYbI/s1600/Cowgirl+Up2.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Ok, so the colours I have used are brighter than the challenge photo, but I'm hoping that is ok, I've never done very well at pastels! LOL But here is the lovely picture!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0OSd2jwhD5s/U4U3vftE58I/AAAAAAAACK8/CWlj49izLDc/s1600/may-14-bikes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0OSd2jwhD5s/U4U3vftE58I/AAAAAAAACK8/CWlj49izLDc/s1600/may-14-bikes.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
OK... so my regular followers will know I promised a tutorial. But like I said above, I am having some major technical difficulties! My laptop is grumpy and my body is sore, if I figure it out I will let you all know!! :)<br />
Thanks for listening, looking and reading!<br />
Happy Crafting!!<br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Seems I've lost a day here somewhere and I swore I had to post this TOMORROW... but I see on the little clock that it's the NINTH today! Oy!! Have you done that? I blame a lack of good coffee in my blood so I've made a BIG pot of my favorite blend and sat down to get serious! haha!!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Ok so today I have another mixed media canvas to show you (can you tell that's sorta my thing??) I have SO many stamps and embellishments around the coffee addict theme that I wanted to just sit down with them all and make something cool about COFFEE!! And use some AWESOME shapes from <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories.htm" target="_blank">SRTC</a>!!! And here you are!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8YF48_-Op0U/U0XXcL7M4yI/AAAAAAAACJw/XX13uiMOajQ/s1600/Creative+Fuel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8YF48_-Op0U/U0XXcL7M4yI/AAAAAAAACJw/XX13uiMOajQ/s1600/Creative+Fuel.jpg" height="316" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I started by drawing out that coffee mug outta chipboard myself and covered it in paper from a DCWV pack. then I made the border by starting with a layer of dry wall tape and the some grungeboard and chipboard shapes, buttons and anything else I could find, then althernated painting and spraying with glimmer mist products. I had plans to do even more to this project in general but.... long store made short.... I had back surgery! So, here we are! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What do you think?? It was fun to make that's for sure! The steam from the coffee is from <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories.htm" target="_blank">SRTC</a> as well as that pink tag and the little clock in the corner. Lots of the little bits and bobs in the painted up border are also from <a href="http://www.southernridge.net/categories.htm" target="_blank">Southern Ridge Trading Co.</a> They are getting more and more fun and unique products on their site it's hard not to want them ALL!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's a closer shot of the tag.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SSOP5tw4IQI/U0XXYuqcorI/AAAAAAAACJs/vjdYhDBvK0M/s1600/Cretive+Fuel+tag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SSOP5tw4IQI/U0XXYuqcorI/AAAAAAAACJs/vjdYhDBvK0M/s1600/Cretive+Fuel+tag.jpg" height="320" width="259" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Sure hope you get a chance to be crafty today!!!!<br />
<br />
Cheers and Happy Crafting!!<br />
