Graphic 45 Design Team 2014 Audition

This is a sampling of some of my favorite projects over the past few years (altho most are fairly recent). I am so excited and thankful to be able to show you these projects of mine and be considered for a place on your team. Your products inspire me and I often find myself looking to them not just for background papers but to use to make my own embellishments for projects. You'll find that I'm a BIG fan of mixed media and almost all of my projects fall into that category anyhow as I'm always using different mediums in my work. I hope you enjoy the following projects.

Steampunk Debutante G45 Journal Cover
I chose this project as it is almost exclusively Graphic 45, with just a few accent pieces that are from other companies I thought this really showcased my love for G45's paper lines and that I LOVE to use them. I didn't need to find an image or anything else to create with as just the 6x6 pad was enough to create this notebook cover! As an artist, I find the mixed media craze an EXCITING new trend, and Graphic 45 is the perfect pairing for much of what I love to create.

Steampunk Card with Tickled Pink Image
Continuing on my Steampunk theme, here is a card I made for Tickled Pink Stamp Company out of Australia. This card gained me the attention from the owner of the company and I was invited as a Guest onto her Design Team frequently after this, as well as the sentiment on this card was designed by myself and I designed a series of sentiments for her to match a new release.

I Throw Wild Tea Parties - Card
This card was made with mostly Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland papers. I LOVED this line! Alice in Wonderland being one of my favorite movies and books and themes... These images are again from the Tickled Pink stamp co. and the sentiment is another of my own designs. I thought this was a good example of how I love to use the G45 papers as you can do so much with them, not just used as a background but there are so many parts (like the playing cards above) that you can make into fabulous embellishments!

Canvas Wall Hangings - Mixed Media

These two canvases above  are what I would consider my specialty. I stopped making cards as they were becoming so elaborate that I was afraid they would be lost after they were given away. So I started making these instead of a card. I am a Copic Certified instructor for Copic markers and have taught all over BC, specializing in teaching classes based on shading. The canvases are painted and then have layers of patterned papers and ribbons, lace, flowers etc etc. The TEA canvas above I used a hot glue gun to make the hot water flowing out of the tea pot and splashing down the stacked mugs. Then I painted the dried glue with liquid pearls. I am planning to do a  tutorial on this technique soon.

Art Journal Entry - Pain in the Arse

I thought I would show you this piece as I've just started these Art Journal pages and they are really popular on YouTube and in some of the craft and art stores I've been in recently. This page I created with just paint and a few stamps. I drew and cut out all the pill bottles and pills, the needles too. I did use a washi tape around the edge as a border. This is a project I plan to do a series of tutorial videos' on and post them on YouTube.
Mixed Media - Scrapbook Layout Canvases

I have made these canvases like a scrapbook page mounted on canvas to hang on the wall as art or a picture frame. They have both been painted and layered with paper and and flowers and other embellishments. These are GREAT ways to showcase elements of a paper line and it's accessories. My favorite part of the above pieces are: On the pink canvas titled Trixie, I have used some molding paste in a TH stencil Rays, that seem to *shine* from the right side of the photo. And on the family layout, the crocheted lace I have painted brown and put some modge podge on it to stiffen the lace and attached all the way around as a border, it really frames the whole layout beautifully I think.

I'm Creative Mixed Media Canvas

This is the last piece I will show you and it's my most recent one. I have joined a wonderful new chipboard company based here in Canada called Southern Ridge Trading Co. and this was my first piece using their product. (the swirl flourish in each corner).

Thank you again for stopping by and considering me for your team.
