Something A Little Different - A Girl In A Tub

Yup! It's a painting! I haven't painted in a long time. Seems when I started paper crafting I just stopped...I don't think I meant to, just one project took over and while I thought about painting I just never found the time. But right now...while I am stuck in the house so much...I have nothing but time. Now I still can't sit for long periods of time so I'm not really fast, but that doesn't matter. In fact I had three projects on the go while I was working on this painting. But now Im trying to come up with a new idea....

Anyhow, here it is. It's an acrylic folk art style painting I call A Girl In A Tub.

Recently I fell in love with an artist named Shelagh Duffett and her paintings are very much like this style. I wanted to recreate her look but in my own drawings using my own inspiration. The cats are based on my own 2 kitties (pictured Below)as well as my own big puppy Dozer. Before I show you my sweet fur kids I wanted to give you a close up of what I did for the bubbles in the tub. I wanted to create some real looking bubbles and some texture so I mixed some tiny beads and gel medium in with my paint before I applied it to the canvas. I think I like how it turned out.

Ok...so I sure hope you like what I have done here. I enjoyed painting again and I'm looking forward to a bunch more of these in the near future! Now, just so you can see if I caught their likeness in the painting here are the three stars of the piece.
Monster Kitten is my Black Beauty.
Pilchard is our resident Queen of the Castle

And Dozer is our most recent addition...a Saint Dane mix.

Thanks for looking!!!! Hope you like!
Cheers
Cheri
