Another 40th Card with a Hockey theme

Man...am I actually approaching 40?? I must be cause it seems like the "theme" for birthday cards....for FRIENDS...so... does that mean Im pushin 40 too? Crap! LOL This card is for my dear friend Eulanda's hubby, I was privilaged enough to be invited into his "man den" or scary stalker like shrine to the Boston Bruins room....I was even allowed in "the circle" during a CRUCIAL point in the game! LMAO So when it came to his birthday card I HAD to make this card.
heheheeee.....k so Im gonna have to do another one of these in Canuck colours I think for my brother. But that'll be another post. :) I found this saying and thought it would be awesome for a guy/hockey card. It says Lace Em Up, Whack the Buscuit Light the Lamp, It's a Hockey thing (you cant really see that last smaller line in the photo well) Anyhow, and I laced up some ribbon like skates on the side there. Those Bruin logos I covered in some Spica glitter and glossy accents to make them abit more welll.... sparkly (that's prolly more for me than Mike! hahaaa)

And the inside! PUCK! how did 40 happen?! Happy Birthday! LMAO
So Happy Day Mike! Hope you have lots of good ju ju this year! ;)

OK...so I AM gonna enter this over in the challenge at Kenny K  as that is a Kenny image. The theme for their challenge this week is R and since I used RIBBON on the lace up on the front Im gonna go ahead and enter it!
See ya's tomorrow with some FAB new Betty images!!!!

Kenny K Challenge ~ You Rock

I've been so busy with all the DT stuff for my 2 challenge blogs that I just needed to take a bit of a break and make something for ME! Ok, to more direct, something for my hubby! it's his birthday next week and I wanted to be sure to make him an awesome card cause he's just been so sweet and supportive of me in the past couple rough months. So... I'd been eyeing up this image for his card over at Kenny K for awhile, so I bought it and made this up for him.

Now over at Kenny K challenges they have a sketch challenge so I followed their sketch so I could enter it over there. Feels nice to be able to enter a card in a challenge...havent done that in awhile now! LOL Anyhow, it's also an easle card. My husband LOVES anything 80's (much to my dismay) so I wanted to make a joke on that for him. So the card says "You Rock My World.....Like An 80's Hair Band" heheheeeeee Hope you like my creation.

Some deets on the card are as follows:
Stamps: Kenny K digi image
Paper: CTMH You Rock paper pack, SU Silver Shimmer
Tools: QK Super Market 4x8 alpha, Little Yellow Bicycle stickers, BG chipboard shapes
Inks: Glimmer mist (on chipboard shapes), CTMH chalk distress ink.

That's that!! Hope you enjoy peeps!
Cheers

A Little Dragon

OK, so I started making this card for Friday Sketchers....but I strayed so far from the sketch that I dont think I can even pretend.... LOL Anyhow, I fell in love with this little dragon from High Hopes Stamps and that awesome sentiment too, unfortunatly their not mine (WAH!!!) I stamped one off from a friend the other day and now Im kicking myself for only stamping the one image off....What was I thinking you ask?!?! I was thinking I have SO FRIGGIN MANY stamp offs allready I dont need more to get lost in the pile....but of course, because I was being frugal I regret it! So now I think I need to just buy this stamp myself! haha!! that'll teach me for being frugal! ;o)
Ok so my card... Im so happy with it, wish there was some challenge I could enter it in! LOL Oh well. I've used BoBunny papers (does it not seem like 9 out of 10 times that is what I use?!?! LOL) That sentiment and tag I had some fun with my distress inks and stressed it out! Also used one of my TH distressing stamps on it. Anyhow, I was really happy with how this card came out. Makes me want to go lock myself up down there and see what else I can do. :o)
And the inside is....
The card is for my father in law, who's birthday was last weekend (oops) and well, he has not been feeling great lately....and isnt' that one of the great things about making out own cards?? We can make them say whatever we want!!! (LOL ?Ya... THAT's why I do it. ;o) Has nothing do to do with the pretty supplies I collect....nothing at all)
Thanks for looking as always.
Cheers

SCUBA Card ~ 2 Challenges

There was a great sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp It was PERFECT for the idea I had for this card. And over at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge site, the challenge is called "Going in Circles" And I've tried to get a few circles on here....and it seemed like I was using those QK nesties circles ALOT here! LOL

Now this card.... it's funny to me, see I bought this Stampendous Changito scuba diving monkey stamp and the sentiment stamp to go along with it many moons ago! All in order to make this particular card for this particular friend of mine. See, I dislike monkeys ( I know, I can hear all your "What!" and "why's" from here) they've just never done much for me, nor am I a scuba diver, in fact the deep water and well fish.... scare me alittle. So, I did not NEED this stamp as I do so many others (hehehe) but I HAD to get it for my friend as he's a maniac scuba diver and well, the card would be perfect for him. I figured Id make the card and then give him the stamps to go with it (he actually scrapbooks himself, many pics of him diving actually) BUT!!! LOL I love this card SO MUCH and now I think I NEED TO KEEP this stamp so I can make more like this.... LOL but that's silly right? besides.... I need to focus on scrapbooking... not making more cards. LOL JK!

So...here's a close up of my little monkey friend here:
What I've done here is......drumroll please.... (haha, sorry, I just heard the da da da DAAA! in my head) I took my tiny beads and sprayed them down with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist, worked pretty good, cept they stuck together and stuck to the bottom of the craft tray (that may end up in the garbage now...not sure Im up to the mess of scraping the rest out), there are EVERYWHERE now.... but they turned out blue...which was the point. Then I've used some packaging I bought at Creative Accents to make the shaker card. I stamped a bunch extra of the little fish in the image I used some liquid glass to attach a few to the inside of the dome as well as there are some floating in the beads. Around the stamped image I've also used liguid glass to make some extra bubbles and then spounged ink around it for the water. Anyhow... the paper I've used I couldn't tell you the name of, I got it on a clearance rack somewhere and it's embossed and has some glossy accents on top of the bubble like embossing, it's quite neat actually. The little fish at the bottom is from a CTMH set and of course the SCUBA is from Stampendous as well.

SO! The final result Im pretty happy with.... we'll see whether Shane gets the stamp or not... I'll decide before bed. hehehe...... Here's a shot of the inside. Thanks for looking!!!

Sketch Saturday Challenge #86

This is my entry for the Challenge over at Sketch Saturday I LOVE sketches!! It seems like alot of challenge sites lately have been more colour and theme based, and well, I just really like a sketch to follow and then see how it and every one else's turns out SO different, based on the same start point. Anyhow, I've made this cute Get Well card for my dad. I've had this stamp for awhile, I've had the image coloured for awhile... LOL but thought it would work great for my dad. You know I just grabbed the stamp to look for the manufacturer and stamps name and well... there's none. Geesh! So I cant even tell you who makes it. I got it at the cutest little store in Maple Ridge called Be Creative, located in an old farmhouse...seriously folks it's like stampers heaven in there...

So, for the deets on this card, the stamp is obviously unknown, but the papers are byBoBunny and and and....a great paper that I have chopped the end off allready. DARN IT! Ok, so very little details for this card. How bouts I just show you the inside!!! LOL

So, the card reads, LIE DOWN! and Get Better! hehehe! I sure hope he does. :o) Cheers all!!

A Few Challenges ~ Mo's Image

Ok, so I dont normally do this, combine challenges, but this one I have as well, it fits all of them and well ALL of them the prize is....wait for it.... Mo's Digital Images!! And since Im totally hooked on these at the moment, what a great prize for me! Plus, well, I just love to use her images anyhow, so making the card was no hardship! :o) First of all, over at DP2 Challenge Blog the challenge was to make a Christmas card for someone special, and well, I've made this for my son Bradley...how much more special do they come? 2nd of all, over at Digital Tuesday the challenge is Christmas Sparkle, to make the card bling like! (again no hardship for me! LOL) and last, ut definalty not least, when looking for the perfect sketch to use for the card, I found it over at Friday Sketchers. And seriously folks, how ironic is it that Mo is the sponsor for ALL of these challenges?! And I'm using one of her fabulous images?!?! crazy! I sure hope I win! ;o) Now, on to the card.....

Isnt it PERFECT!!!!! Ok, so here's what I've used.
Image is by Mo's Digital Pencil, called Video Boy
Coloured with Copics
Papers are by Harmonie
Chipboard shapes are by Basic Grey, covered with Glitter Ritz micro glitter
Die shapes from Spellbinders, Quickutz (TV and Snowboarder and letters)
Oh....and I gave him a touque from a snowman stamp set I have....just to make him look more festive!!

the TV is a shaker, filled with Tiny beads and gems.... Cool huh? I have a gift card holder on the inside for a money card to Walmart. Spoiled rotten kid.
Thanks for looking everyone!!!

Jay's Birthday Card (was just ALITTLE late)

OK! LOL This card just makes me laugh. While shopping with Shelley at the coast last weekend. Shelley found the inside sentiment to this card...then we matched it up to this HILARIOUS stamp from Whipper Snappers (who will ALWAYS remain my favorite stamps company) There's sort of a long funny story to this but to make it abit shorter. My poor husband last year, was once so tired from work that when he got back to his shop, and could not see his car...figured it was stolen, called and reported it stolen to both the police and insurance company's. Then, later, as he was being driven home by a co worker, he was suddenly reminded of where his car was (at his mom's house ;o) LMAO) So....it isa HUGE joke now...that he lost his car. Needless to say that this was the PERFECT stamp and sentiment for it. Even more perfect cause the car in the stamp is a FORD (as is his car and truck for that matter) I changed the licence plate to say NEWMAN which is his nickname (it originally says CHKNFMR). He laughed. Loves his card, Thank God he has a great sence of humor and enjoys both teasing others and being teased. ;o) Good thing or I'm sure we'd be divorced long ago! LOL Here is the inside...

Oh, it still makes me laugh!! LOL

Whiff of Joy Challenge

This is my entry for the WOJ card challenge over at the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog They have some amazing prizes for this week's challenge as it's their 1YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! Congrats to them and Happy Anniversary. As Ive said before I enter thie challenges more than any others. This week was a sketch by one of my FAV bloggers Rach, her work is amazing and inspiring. I hope I've done her sketch justice with this. I wanted to do something boyish. Here's a couple closer looks at the card and the sketch that I based it on.

The papers I've used are from Karen Foster and Renaissance. The stars I stamped around the oval is from CTMH, I think this might be one of my new favorite treatments, done it a few times now and I love the result. Thanks for looking. Im off to do alittle blog hopping and enter some candy spots. Happy Card day all!!

U Totally Rock Dude

OK, so I said not more cards for abit. BUT!! My little man is feeling alittle homesick and so I thought maybe if I sent him a card it would cheer him up abit. I saw this metal mesh in the dollar store the other day and I thought what a great idea for a man/boy card!! So I quickly (amazing for me!!) threw this card together. I think he'll like it. The paper is from DCWV and the chipboard is MM. The skull stamps are from Cloud 9. I hope he likes it.
