Another Journal Recovered

When I made the previous journal I had made this one as well, I was just waiting for the recipient to have received it in the mail before I posted it. I actually did this one first so was sort of my guinea pig so to speak as I wasn't really sure how it was going to turn out. In the future I will do the cover separately and then glue to the existing cover instead of working right on it as it warped with all the wet product I used. But, live and learn... This was for another friend of mine in my Fibromyalgia support group and this time I used Purple as it seems to be used as THE colour for fibro sites as well as the symbol of the butterfly as well as the spoon. There's a really interesting analogy for Fibro involving the spoon, you can find the story here if you are interested in reading it, called The Spoon Theory

OK...so here is my mixed Media journal cover....

It's VERY purple!! LoL It's odd to me that I really don't work in purple much, I do like the colour but I just must not be attracted to it when I'm shopping (like I am to pink obviously...I buy anything and everything I can find in PINK!!) cause whenever I start to work on a project for a friend I know loves purple I cannot find product in my stash!! And I think to myself every time....look for some purple stuff next time you're out...and then I don't! Which is even odder when you consider that my bedroom is painted in this exact colour!!! What the Heck?!?! Oh well...I made this work!

I found this gorgeous delicate lace at a packaging store last fall and it is absolutely FABULOUS for these type of Mixed Media projects! It creates a wonderful texture and visual as well! and it's thin so it's not bulky like many crocheted trims I've got.

Then there's this big TH sissex butterfly die. I LOVE the combination of the colour purple and orange...I just love how they set each other off and are my FAV contrasting colour combination. This butterfly is cut from cardboard then the orange is liquid pearls and the black is embossing powders.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Im starting to stick around a little more  now.....I have some more fun stuff in the very near future to post too!!! Happy Crafting!!!
